Show Subjects (links to similar collections)Scope and Contents: The Marguerite Schumann Collection contains "Schuie's" personal manuscripts, published articles, articles that reference her achievements, personal correspondence, various folders filled with information on her personal research, personal photographs, recipes, copies of books that "Schuie" authored, and information regarding her memorial services at Lawrence University and Duke University. Schuie graduated from Lawrence University, at the time Lawrence College, in 1944. After graduation, she worked as the Director of Publicity and Publications at Lawrence from 1945-1968. In 1968, Lawrence University presented her with an honorary Master of Arts degree. Schuie then worked in the publication offices at Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She died on March 13, 1986. Through her estate, Lawrence University established the Marguerite Schumann Memorial Lectureship Fund. The fund brought various lecturers to Lawrence University from 1987 until the early 2000s.
