Scope and Contents of the Materials

This collection consists of the records of the bodies of student government preceding the establishment of the Lawrence University Community Council (LUCC) in 1968. These bodies included the Student Senate, the Student Executive Council, as well as women's student government organizations. Records primarily date from about 1910 to the early 1970s. Materials include constitutions and by-laws, handbooks, meeting minutes, correspondence, and reports.

Item 1: Lawrence Women's Association scrapbook, 1957-1964
This scrapbook documents the 1957-58 and 1963-64 school years. It includes the LWA constitution and by-laws, photographs, as well as newspaper articles about the Best Loved Banquet, May Day celebrations, and the consolidation with Milwaukee-Downer College. The scrapbook also contains pieces of Milwaukee-Downer history as well, including bulletins and a student handbook.
