Artist Series and Jazz Series Collection

Scope and Contents This collection consists primarily of season announcements and programs for the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music Artist Series and Jazz Series, annual series of concerts featuring outside artists, from 1908 to the present. Some photographs are also included.

Carl Waterman Collection

Scope and Contents This collection consists of materials relating to Carl Waterman, Conservatory of Music faculty member from 1910 to 1953 and Dean of the Conservatory from 1920 to 1949. Materials include articles and biographical information, correspondence relating to a retirement gift for Waterman, and photographs.

Catherine F. McHugh Papers

Scope and Contents This collection consists of papers and a scrapbook created by Catherine McHugh, Lawrence University class of 1937. The scrapbook contains Conservatory concert programs and dance cards from various fraternity or sorority formals. The papers include music scores copied by McHugh, including pieces by Beethoven, Chopin, Schubert, and Bach.

Conservatory of Music Administrative Records

Overview This collection contains administrative records of the Conservatory of Music including correspondence, committee and faculty meeting materials, and former faculty files. Materials have been largely transferred from the Conservatory Office through records management, and span the years 1910-2021.

Scope and Contents This collection contains approximately 3500 reel-to-reel tape recordings of Conservatory of Music concerts and recitals, dating from 1965 to 1992. A partial inventory is available in the Archives.
