Scope and Contents This collection contains materials documenting the tenure of Charles M. Brooks, Jr. as professor of art and architecture at Lawrence University from 1946 to 1973. Some materials from Brooks' service in the U.S. Navy prior to his appointment at Lawrence are also included. Scope and Contents This collection consists of materials related to several members of the Colman family who attended or were otherwise connected with Lawrence University since its founding, including Henry Root Colman, Henry Colman, and Lucinda Darling Colman. The bulk of the collection consists of Lucinda Darling Colman's handwritten "Memory Pictures," written between 1923 and 1930. Colman recalls her childhood, attending Lawrence in the 1850s, and her travels on the west and east coasts from 1906 through 1914....

Curtis Tarr Papers

Scope and Contents This collection consists of the personal papers of Curtis Tarr, the twelfth president of Lawrence University. The papers are comprehensive, including a daily journal that Tarr maintained from 1964 to 1989 and correspondence sent and received from 1941 to 1997. Drawings in pen by Tarr as well as other writings are also included.
