Scope and Contents Sophia Emeline Walker attended Lawrence in 1858 but did not graduate. She became an editor and journalist in Wisconsin, Utah, California, and New York, writing under the name "Lisle Lester." Materials in this collection are primarily copies of articles she wrote, including a microfilm reel, and materials used in the research of her life by Ruth S. Worthing and Fay Kaynor.

Also included is a Stan Kenton record as an example of what students listened to in the 1950s.
