Scope and Contents: This collection contains papers documenting the research activities of Charles Breunig, professor of history at Lawrence University from 1955 to 1986. The bulk of the collection consists of papers related to Breunig's research and writing of a history of Lawrence University ("A Great and Good Work:" A History of Lawrence University, 1847-1964) after his retirement from teaching. Materials include note cards, primary source materials (including oral history recordings and transcripts), drafts and galleys, content on floppy disks, newspaper clippings, and photographs. Unabridged and unrevised copies of the book, in both paper and digital format, are also included. Records date from 1961 to 2004.
