Scope and Contents This collection contains records of the Office of Development, and fund-raising records pre-dating the creation of this office, from 1847 to the present. Records include administrative and subject files, publications, event invitations, and campaign materials. Records documenting gifts to Lawrence, including early subscription books, gifts from corporations and individuals, endowed chairs and professorships, and grants, are also included.

Presidential Search Committee Records

Scope and Contents The collection contains materials documenting the search for a president from 1969 to 2004, during which time Presidents Thomas Smith, Richard Warch, and Jill Beck were appointed. Materials include correspondence between the search committee and nominated candidates for the position, as well as letters from colleges across the country providing suggestions for the new president. Interview schedules and resumes of candidates are also included.
