Scope and Contents This collection consists of the papers of Amélie Catherine Sérafon, professor of French at Milwaukee-Downer College from 1910 to 1945. The bulk of the collection includes letters, in French, sent to Bessie Wolfner, Milwaukee-Downer College class of 1918. These letters were translated by Lawrence students and published as A Common Bond: Letters from Mlle Serafon in 2001. Other materials include newspaper clippings, teaching materials, and photographs.
