 File — Box: 1, Folder: 2
In late August 1949, after graduating from Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Arts, Gail Carolyn Outland was on her way to France to teach English. She had been appointed to serve as an English assistant in the girls’ high school of Lavaur, a small city in the south of France. These are the letters she wrote home about her year in France. Letters were transcribed and edited by her husband, John Nothnagle, in 2007.
