This collection contains various academic papers written by Dr. Forter as a student; personal academic notebooks and calendars; personal correspondence; records for the Elizabeth Tusten Forter Scholarship fund; her doctoral dissertation, "A Study of the Dramatic Technique of Bernard Shaw"; her Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; and her honorary Master of Arts degree granted by Lawrence University. Dr. Forter taught in the Lawrence University English Department from 1953 to 1988.
