"Phi Gamma Delta was chosen by a committee of trustees in 1957 to occupy a sixth fraternity house in the quadrangle when it was completed. The chapter did not become formally active until September 1958. The local chapter remained at Lawrence for approximately thirty years; it turned in its charter to the national fraternity in October 1987." Breunig, A Great and Good Work, p. 110.
