Summary Note
Downer College, founded as Wisconsin Female College in 1855, was a predecessor of Milwaukee-Downer College. The college was located in Fox Lake, Wisconsin. It was renamed Downer College in 1889 in honor of Judge Jason Downer. Downer College consolidated with Milwaukee Female College in 1895 to create Milwaukee-Downer College.
