Summary Note
An "Ice Cathedral," designed by a local architect and built by men hired by the local merchants association, 1932. It was made of 40 tons of ice manufactrued by the Lutz Ice Company and included a complex lighting and cooling system and "colored gelatin sheets" to make the cathedral more colorful. The cathedral was lit from 5pm-10pm through the holiday season and attracted hundreds of visitors. Similar chapels were constructed in 1933 and 1934.
