This collection consists primarily of photographs taken by staff of The Ariel for inclusion in the annual yearbook, dating from 1995 to 2004. Two folders of administrative materials, including correspondence dating from 1945 to 1963 and an award presented by the Central Interscholastic Press Association in 1925, are also included.

Biographical or Historical Information

Lawrence students assembled and published their first yearbook in 1893 as the Lawrence Columbian Souvenir, to celebrate the World Columbian Exhibition in Chicago. The yearbook known as The Ariel was first published in 1897, then published annually after 1899. The last issue was published in 2011.

Method of Acquisition

Photographs transferred to the Archives by Linda Fuerst, circa 2004-2005. The source, date, and method of acquisition for other materials are unknown.
