This collection consists primarily of materials from seminars hosted by the USA War Office, including schedules, reports, personal and secondary publications, class enrollment slips, and correspondence. Also in the collection are lecture notes and slides, research bibliography notecards, and family photographs.

Biographical or Historical Information

Fred Sumner Hanson, III received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Pennsylvania State College in 1935. He later went on to earn a Master of Science degree from Lawrence College in 1937, and a PhD in Chemistry from the Institute of Paper Chemistry, then located in Appleton, WI, in 1939.
