The Elma Sharpe Wade scrapbook contains class schedules from her time at Lawrence College, correspondence about her academic performance at Lawrence College with the Dean of Freshmen, dance cards, greeting cards for various occasions, namecards, newspaper clippings, photographs, programs, sketches by fellow Lawrence College classmate Bob Shepard, tuition information, and wedding cards sent by her wedding guests and those who could not attend, beneath each wedding card she wrote the gift her and her husband Sherman Wade recevied. According to a typed biographical paragraph on the scrapbook's first page Elma Sharpe entered Lawrence College in 1926. Due to her father's death in 1927 Elma did not complete her education at Lawrence College. She went on to work at Wisconsin Public Service in Wausau, Wisconsin. Later in her twenties Elma contracted TB and spent two years in a sanitorium. She married Sherman Wade in 1941 and passed away in 1989.
