Biographical / Historical

Paul Joseph Jackson (1927-2017) graduated from Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Music in 1949. He later earned a Master of Music degree from University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a PhD in Musicology from Stanford University. He was a pianist, a manager of opera and drama festivals, a musicological scholar, and Dean of the College of Fine Arts st Drake University for 16 years. He was awarded a honorary degree of Doctor of Fine Arts from Lawrence University in 1972.
