Shattuck Hall of Music Collection

Scope and Contents This collection consists of materials documenting the planning and construction of Shattuck Hall of Music, as well as the coincident renovation of the Memorial Chapel. Correspondence, meeting minutes, building specifications and plans, operational manuals, architectural renderings, photographs, and dedication materials are included. Materials date from 1989 to 1994.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of records from the Special Study Committee, a faculty committee appointed to study the curriculum at Lawrence, dating from 1952 to 1955. The work of the committee was supported by a grant from the Carnegie Corporation.  Records consist of meeting minutes, correspondence, and reports (including what became known as the Troyer Report, named for the committee chair, Howard Troyer.)

Student Government Records

Scope and Contents This collection consists of the records of the bodies of student government preceding the establishment of the Lawrence University Community Council (LUCC) in 1968. These bodies included the Student Senate, the Student Executive Council, as well as women's student government organizations. Records primarily date from about 1910 to the early 1970s. Materials include constitutions and by-laws, handbooks, meeting minutes, correspondence, and reports.

WLFM Radio Station Records

Scope and Contents This collection includes records documenting WLFM, the student-run radio station at Lawrence University and the first FM radio station in Appleton, Wisconsin, which began broadcasting in 1956. Records date from 1954 to 2005 and include Board of Control materials, correspondence and reports of station managers and directors, program schedules, and other materials related to the management of the station. Newspaper articles and photographs are also included.
