Summary Note
Plantz writes to Smith who is serving in World War I and was recently wounded in France. Plantz also writes of the high casualty lists and his hopes that the war will be over soon. He shares that at Lawrence there are 400 men of the Student Army Training Corps (S.A.T.C.) that are taking a course under military discipline. The men live in Brokaw and Ormsby Halls and the women students have been moved to the new Sage Hall and campus houses. He also writes about the new Memorial Chapel that is near completion.
