On October 22, 1963, Charles Stone, chairman of the MIlwaukee-Downer College Board of Trustees, read this announcement at a special convocation of Milwaukee-Downer students, faculty, and staff. It coincided with the public news release announcing that Milwaukee-Downer was to consolidate with Lawrence College.
