This collection contains records documenting alumni relations at Lawrence University dating from 1909 to 2005. Administrative records of the Alumni Relations Office such as annual reports, budgets, and subject files documenting special events are included, dating from 1954 to 1999. Subject files documenting topics related to alumni, including records pre-dating the formation of the Alumni Relations Office, are also included.

Biographical or Historical Information

The Alumni Relations Office at Lawrence was established in 1954. Prior to this time, there had been no staff members at Lawrence dedicated to alumni relations. The Alumni Relations Office worked closely with the Lawrence University Alumni Association (LUAA) and its Board of Directors. The Office also coordinated Reunion weekend and other alumni events. Its name was changed to the Office of Alumni and Constituency Engagement (ACE) in 2009, to reflect a new focus that included other constituencies such as parents and community members.

Method of Acquisition

Box 3 (Alumni Relations Office records, 1973-1997) transferred to the Archives by Alumni and Constituency Engagement staff with Accession #2012-045, 2012-05-10. Other materials acquired prior to 2005.
