Collection: Commencement Records | Lawrence University Archives

The collection consists of records documenting Commencement ceremonies from 1857 to the present. Records from years prior to 1926 include programs and announcements from Commencement ceremonies and other academic exhibitions. Files from 1926 onward represent Commencement-related records created and maintained by the Office of the President and include materials such as correspondence, citations of awards and honorary degrees, planning documents, and photographs.

Method of Acquisition Acquisition details for files dating from before 1978 are unknown. Files dating from 1978-2007 were transferred from Sampson House basement to Archives 2007-07-02.

Commencement materials are collected annually.

Processing Information
