This collection contains records documenting the business operations and finances of Lawrence University, 1846 to the present. This includes records of fiscal agents, the Treasurer, Business Manager, Comptroller, Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs, and the Office of Financial Services. Materials include general office records, correspondence, and subject files; annual financial reports and audited statements; records documenting Lawrence's endowment, properties, and real estate; and bookkeeping records documenting receipt and disbursement of funds.

Annual financial reports are open for research immediately. Most other records in this collection are classified as General University Records and are thus closed for 20 years beyond the date of creation. Other files might contain confidential information - these are closed for 75 years beyond the date of creation. Contact the Archives for more information.

Method of Acquisition

Annual financial reports dating from 1994 through 2012 were transferred to the Archives by the Office of Financial Services in December, 2012. Digital reports (2009-2014) captured from the website on 2015-07-15. All other materials acquired prior to 2005.

Further accruals are expected.
