Scope and Contents
This collection consists of the papers of Amélie Catherine Sérafon, professor of French at Milwaukee-Downer College from 1910 to 1945. The bulk of the collection includes letters, in French, sent to Bessie Wolfner, Milwaukee-Downer College class of 1918. These letters were translated by Lawrence students and published as A Common Bond: Letters from Mlle Serafon in 2001. Other materials include newspaper clippings, teaching materials, and photographs.

This collection contains the papers of Bessie J. Wolfner, Milwaukee-Downer College graduate of 1918, dating from 1914 to 1983. It includes correspondence, course work, and photographs documenting her years at Milwaukee-Downer, as well as correspondence from Milwaukee-Downer faculty in the years after her graduation. Other writings by Wolfner are also included.

Scope and Contents
The bulk of this collection is comprised of the scripts and programs from the plays that Emily Frances Brown produced and directed as an English professor at Milwaukee Downer College from 1900 to 1945. The collection also contains newspaper articles describing her role in bringing the now famous Christmas song “Twelve Days of Christmas” from England to the United States, as well as photographs and teaching materials.
