Thomas Roberts Scrapbook

Scope and Contents
Thomas Roberts' scrapbook contains correspondence, class schedules, class syallabi, invitations, napkins, receipts, photographs, posters from on campus events, programs from athletic events, and his pledge card from the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. All the collected materials relate to his first year at Lawrence College, 1951-1952. Many notes in the scrapbook refer to a woman named "Arlene," most likely Arlene Keller who graduated with Roberts in 1955. The two later married.

This collection consists of 240 glass slides depicting primarily Lawrence University buildings, grounds, students and faculty from 1898 to about 1930. The bulk of the items are lantern slides which were used for promotional presentations about Lawrence around the Midwest in the 1920s and 1930s. A second series consists of 8 by 10 inch slides; the provenance of these is unknown.
