This collection consists of materials related to African-American students at Lawrence, dating from 1869 to 1997. This includes administrative materials related to the recruitment and enrollment of African Americans as well as materials created by African-American student organizations and committees. The bulk of the materials in this collection date from the 1960s and 1970s. This collection was arranged by the Archives prior to 2005.

This collection is comprised of materials documenting the history of Alice G. Chapman Hall, originally Jason Downer Commons, the location of food services for Lawrence University built in 1968. Correspondence, newspaper clippings, programs, contracts, and photographs are included in the collection. Materials on the Alice G. Chapman Teakwood Room are also included, as well as records documenting the 2011-2013 renovations to the building.

This collection includes personal papers of Alice Nash White, Lawrence University class of 1901, and her husband Kirby B. White, ex-class of 1897 and trustee from 1927 until his death in 1933. The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence between Henry Wriston and Mr. White dating from his years on the Board, with particular emphasis on the college's response to financial difficulties during the Great Depression. Also included is a photocopy of Mr. White's diary dating from 1917 to 1932.

This collection consists of the papers of Amélie Catherine Sérafon, professor of French at Milwaukee-Downer College from 1910 to 1945. The bulk of the collection includes letters, in French, sent to Bessie Wolfner, Milwaukee-Downer College class of 1918. These letters were translated by Lawrence students and published as A Common Bond: Letters from Mlle Serafon in 2001. Other materials include newspaper clippings, teaching materials, and photographs.
