Scope and Contents The house was built between 1895 and 1901. Original owner was George McNamee. In 1928, Lawrence purchased the house. Phi Kappa Tau then used it as their fraternity house until the quad was built in 1941. After 1941, Lawrence faculty or staff lived in the house (either as tenants or as owners with special agreements with the university) until 1988, when the university started using the house as small group housing for students.
