President Curtis Tarr appointed the committee in 1968 and charged it with investigating the whole structure of the university and making recommendations for change to the faculty. Scope and Contents This collection consists of records from the Special Study Committee, a faculty committee appointed to study the curriculum at Lawrence, dating from 1952 to 1955. The work of the committee was supported by a grant from the Carnegie Corporation.  Records consist of meeting minutes, correspondence, and reports (including what became known as the Troyer Report, named for the committee chair, Howard Troyer.)

Stephenson Hall of Science Collection

Scope and Contents This collection is comprised of materials documenting the history of Stephenson Hall of Science, the home of the Lawrence science department from when it was built in 1898 until it was razed in 1998.
