Stephenson Hall of Science Collection

Scope and Contents This collection is comprised of materials documenting the history of Stephenson Hall of Science, the home of the Lawrence science department from when it was built in 1898 until it was razed in 1998. Correspondence, newspaper clippings, programs, contracts, and photographs are included in the collection. Materials on the 1948 renovation of the building are also included.

Student Government Records

Scope and Contents This collection consists of the records of the bodies of student government preceding the establishment of the Lawrence University Community Council (LUCC) in 1968. These bodies included the Student Senate, the Student Executive Council, as well as women's student government organizations. Records primarily date from about 1910 to the early 1970s. Materials include constitutions and by-laws, handbooks, meeting minutes, correspondence, and reports.

Sue Ann Hackett Papers

Scope and Contents This collection contains papers collected and created by Sue Ann Hackett, Lawrence College graduate of the class of 1957, primarily dating from her years as a student. Materials include a scrapbook, coursework from a Western Civilization class taught by William Raney, photographs and slides, banquet programs and ephemera, a booklet of transcribed letters and journal entries, and newspaper clippings. Also included is a Stan Kenton record as an example of what students listened to in the 1950s.

Scope and Contents This collection consists primarily of photographs taken by staff of The Ariel for inclusion in the annual yearbook, dating from 1995 to 2004. Two folders of administrative materials, including correspondence dating from 1945 to 1963 and an award presented by the Central Interscholastic Press Association in 1925, are also included.
