The collection contains materials documenting J. Bruce Brackenridge’s tenure as professor of physics at Lawrence from 1959 to 1996. Box 1 includes research materials and publications. Box 2 contains figures and diagrams, most of which are unidentified. Box 3 contains materials and class papers from the Freshman Studies classes Brackenridge taught, 1945-2002. Box 4 contains lectures, television talks, papers given at conferences, and articles Brackenridge wrote, 1966-1999. Box 5 contains lecture notes and course materials from 1979 to 2001. Box 6 contains lecture notes and course materials, including materials from Mechanics classes, from 1964-1995. Box 7 contains Freshman Studies course materials and MIT/Dirner? materials, 1957-2001. Box 8 contains MIT/Dirner? materials and articles and other materials regarding the work of Isaac Newton, 1960-1997. Box 9 contains Astronomy course materials, reviews, correspondence with Newtonian scholars, and curriculum vitae from 2001, 1975-2001. Box 10 contains reviews and correspondence with Newtonian scholars, 1983-2002. Box 11 contains correspondence with Newtonian scholars, other correspondence, annual reports, and materials from the faculty committees Brackenridge served on, including the Committee on Instruction, 1990, Grievance Committee, 1977-1978, Analytic Studies Committee, 1974-1983, Select Committee on Planning, 1969, 1965-2000. Box 12 contains materials from the Governance Committee, 2000, articles and materials from Astrology and Physics classes, and handouts from Astrology and Astronomy classes, 1975-2002. Box 13 contains astronomy and astrology handouts, and meeting and conference materials, 1971-1997. Box 14 contains grant and proposal materials, 1956-2000. Box 15 contains articles, conference materials, course materials, appointment books, and lecture notes, 1969-1999. Box 16 contains articles, course materials, London Center materials, Sir Isaac Newton Society materials, and slides, 1972-2000. Box 17 contains shirts with the S.I.N. Sir Isaac Newton society and a brick from Stephenson Hall of Science. Box 18 contains floppy disks. Box 19 contains materials documenting the London Centre and the German Study Center at Eningen, as well as records from a review of Freshman Studies conducted in 1965 and the Committee on Affirmative Action in Faculty-Level Recruitment and Hiring. Box 20 contains copies of publications, an "Instructor's Handbook for Thomas Kuhn's S.S.R.," and photographs of Brackenridge's office from 2003. Box 21 contains a mix of biographical information, publications, and research materials.
